One of our physiotherapist at our physiotherapy clinic in Cambridge will assist with patients suffering from neck pain is one of the most common ailments that we see in the practice. There are many causes of neck pain, stress from poor posture and emotional and psychological tension, arthritis, road traffic accidents and sports injuries.

Many TMJ-related symptoms are caused by the effects of physical stress on the structures around the joint. These structures include:

  • Cartilage disk at the joint
  • Muscles of the jaw, face, and neck
  • Nearby ligaments, blood vessels, and nerves
  • Teeth

Dysfunction in the neck can create jaw (TMJ) pain and headaches, which can be acute or chronic. This may lead to facial pain, headaches, tinnitus, vertigo or a clicky jaw.

When you come for treatment at our physiotherapy clinic in Cambridge first one of our physiotherapists will take a full history. On visiting on physiotherapy practice in Cambridge for the first time we believe that our physiotherapists need the whole story to get the treatment right for you. This is followed by practical, hands on examination; from this we will discuss our findings, insights and a bespoke treatment plan will be devised and shared with you.

We can never give a figure for how many treatments will be needed as we are constantly assess you – the patient. Generally we feel the patient should notice an improvement after 4 treatments.
